Introduction
Established in 1992, ANSAB is an independent, not-for-profit,
non-governmental organization working in the South
Asia region with its headquarters in Kathmandu, Nepal.
ANSAB is committed to enterprise oriented solutions
to biodiversity conservation and sustainable community
development. ANSAB is governed by a board of international
experts, and has a dedicated team of industrious members
and staff, with specializations in different aspects
of natural resources, enterprises and local livelihoods.
ANSAB
has a focal position in the field through its work
for over a decade in ecological, technological, economic,
and socio-cultural fronts associated to people-centered
conservation, management, and use of biodiversity,
especially non-timber forest products (NTFPs) in Nepal.
It has been consistently evolving, consolidating and
institutionalizing the approaches and strategies for
community based enterprise development and sustainable
natural resources management.

Vision
ANSAB has a vision of contributing to the sustenance
of healthy and productive ecosystems harbouring a rich
biodiversity, effectively managed and used by local
communities that are capable of addressing existing
and potential threats to biodiversity and realising
union between conservation and economic growth. |

Organizational
Structure
ANSAB is governed by a board of international experts,
and has a dedicated team of industrious members and staff,
with specialization in diverse areas pertaining to resource
management and livelihood generation. Executive Director
appointed by the board is the ex-offico member of the
Board of Directors, and functional head of the organisation.
To
be highly effective in its activities, ANSAB adopts
networked, flexible and flat organizational structure.
It focuses on cross-functional teams to deal with the
diverse nature of work in organization. Because of
the very nature of the cross cutting issues it has
to deal with, ANSAB promotes multi-task personnel and
teams in the organization
ANSAB manages its programs in five areas community
forestry; enterprise development; networking and capacity
growth; business development service; and research,
documentation and extension. ANSAB has three permanent
committes for new business development, organization
management and project monitoring. The organization
