ANSAB (Asia Network for Sustainable Agriculture and Bioresources) is an international non-governmental organization with its headquarters in Kathmandu. Established in 1992, ANSAB is committed to enterprise oriented solutions to biodiversity conservation and sustainable community development. ANSAB develops and manages programs for promotion of natural products based enterprises, community forestry, capacity growth of key stakeholders’ and creation of enabling policy environment by working directly with local communities and in collaboration with key stakeholders.

ANSAB is seeking dynamic, energetic, and career-oriented professionals for its various programs in Nepal.

 
1 .  Information & Documentation Officer (female) (Apply)
Opening Date: 2 Apr 2008  -  Closing Date: 2 May 2008
Main Responsibilities
  1. Systematic organization, management and dissemination of information related to programs, projects, partners, networks and donors.
  2. Designing and preparation of brochures/newsletters/annual reports and other publications
  3. Support in developing and implementing communication strategies of the organization
  4. Preparation of articles and press summaries, minutes and proceedings
  5. Assisting in conduction of  workshops, meetings and seminars
  6. Tracking & monitoring the progress of ANSAB projects
  7. Providing inputs in project design, drafting proposals and assist in fund raising
Minimum Requirements
Graduate in basic or applied sciences preferably with two years of experiences in similar field; good command in English and Nepali language; demonstrated command on publications/and writing; database management skill; good interpersonal and communication skills; and sound computer skills.

2 .  Program Manager (Apply)

Main Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Executive Director, Program Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations of all activities and management of programs and organizational development.

  1. PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION, MONITORING & REPORTING. Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization and that program activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards. Provide logistical and administrative oversight. Design and execute M&E plan, tracking system and reporting. Ensure continual monitoring of the program's progress to ensure that the programs are working to achieve goals and objectives and program maintains funding agency’s accountability standards. Oversee the creation, compilation and writing of program reports and other periodical program documentation. Review program plans throughout the course of the fiscal year and advise the Executive Director to ensure up-to-date data.
  2. FUNDRAISING & PROGRAM DESIGN. Support the fund raising for ANSAB programs and other needs, including identification of funding opportunities, needs assessments, project design, drafting proposals and preparing marketing tools.
Minimum Requirements

1.      Master’s degree with major coursework related to the area of assignment and 3 years of experience within or related to the program assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.

2.      Ability to lead day-to-day program oversight and management. Provide program-based guidance and interpretations for staff and field. Able to plan schedules budgets and resources.

3.      Ability to coordinate the program development and design process, including needs assessments, project design, drafting proposals, preparing marketing tools, evaluation and reporting.

4.      Ability to assure project compliance with program goals, policies and procedures. Skill in developing contingency plans to address changing program needs.

5.      Ability to prepare program budgets to meet regulatory requirements with Finance Manager. Ability to oversee administration of project budget, including control and monitoring of project related expenditures.

6.      Ability to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual and end of project reports as required by funding agency and other bodies.

7.      Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously within stringent time constraints

8.      Ability to learn, interpret and apply policies, procedures, and resolutions.

      9.   Requires discretion and independent judgment

10.      Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers, stakeholders and clients.
