ANSAB Team
ANSAB has a team of 57 professional staff members in the field of enterprise development, business development services, natural resource management, community forestry, sociology, economics, marketing, biodiversity research, biological and socio-economic monitoring, policy analysis and research, and finance and accounting. ANSAB works with a network of a partner orgnizations and NGOs in Nepal, India, Srilanka, Southern Africa and USA. ANSAB’s Nepal NTFP Network (NNN), which has over 300 professionals and over 50 organizations as members, promotes policy development, research and coordination in NTFP and forestry sector. Through coordinating Public Private Alliance (PPA), ANSAB draws expertise from leading national and international private companies, public agencies, policy forums and networks, and non profits for specialized services such as product design and development, international marketing and forests management certification. In addition, it works closely with a number of reputed consultants in the specialized areas. For acquisition of the services of these consultants, ANSAB has a roaster of experts which includes more than 100 individuals.

Dr. John W. Croucher,
founder and chairperson of
ANSAB, is a renowned community based enterprise development
expert. He is often consulted by top organizations like
World Bank and USAID, and has led several missions for
designing and formulation programs for South Asia including
IFAD's Livelihood Improvement Program in Indian Himalaya.
Dr. Crocuher has served as Asia Director for Appropriate
Technology International (ATI), a US non-profit organization
founded by US congress that has improved livelihood
condition of more than 232,174 people in Asia, and Latin
America. More importantly, he is a great lover of the
Himalayan region, particularly Nepal.

S.P.Singh
Vice-Chairperson
Prof. Dr. S.P.
Singh is the Vice Chancellor of Garhwal University, India.
Before, he was the head of Department of Botany in Kumau
University. He has been dean of Science Faculty and
a Courtesy Professor of Oregon State University, USA.
Dr. Singh is a Fellow of Indian National Science Academy
(FNA), the only Botanist awarded in 2002. The award
is given for lifetime achievement in Science. Dr. Singh
is highly committed to the ecological security of the
Himalaya. He has published over 150 scientific papers
and articles in more than 40 international research
journals including prestigious journals like "Ecology"
and "Bioscience"

Dr. H.P.Gunasena,
Professor of the University of Peradeniya and Executive
Director of the Council for Agricultural Research Policy,
Sri Lanka brings experience and expertise in the areas
of agro forestry, community forestry, tree domestication,
and rural development.

Dr.
Bhishma P. Subedi | CV of Bhishma P. Subedi Executive
Director, ANSAB
Bhishma Subedi, now Executive Director of ANSAB,
has over 15 years of experience in program design,
planning, management, monitoring and evaluation as
well as University teaching, research, policy analysis
and networking in the area of participatory natural
resources management. Previously he served as a Lecturer,
Social Ecologist, Biodiversity Program Director, Coordinator
and Principal Investigator in various organizations.
He has worked with over 500 organizations and individuals
that are active in community forestry and NTFPs issues
through his founding/coordinating role in the Nepal
NTFP Network among others. Positive changes in policy
and the life of the poor and conservation are evident
through his strong coordination and leadership skills
and a keen devotion to rich and productive biodiversity
and prosperous communities in Himalaya. Subedi has
a PhD in Forestry from Kumaun University and M.S.
in Forest Sciences from Yale University and over 30
published articles, books and 60 research/technical
reports.
