Policy and Networking

Development of NTFPs sub-sector in is ANSAB’s core concern and we are working with key stakeholders from grassroots level to the policy makers to further improve the policy development process, provisions and their implementation. To support this, ANSAB founded and is coordinating Nepal NTFP Network (NNN), which has over 50 institutional and 300 individual members, since 1995. The network brings together communities, businesses, donors, environmental and government representatives to discuss and work for promoting sustainable use and management of NTFPs. ANSAB represents the civil society in the government’s apex level (headed by Minister for Forests and Soil Conservation) Herbs and NTFP Coordination Committee ( HNCC ), that was set up to address the needs raised by the NNN. The Network advises the government’s Herbs and NTFP Coordination Committee (HNCC) in various policy issues.
