Event: 36th Sharing Meeting of NNN

Asia Network for Sustainable Agriculture and Bioresources (ANSAB) organized the 36th sharing meeting of Nepal NTFP Network (NNN) on March 15, 2013 at ANSAB office. 30 participants representing Government, non-government and business membership organizations discussed on the following agendas:

  • Prioritizing NTFP enterprises & support options that deliver integrated, intensified and climate smart land use
  • EIA/IEE provisions in CFUG

Starting the meeting, Executive Director Dr. Bhishma P. Subedi presented on the methodological framework and outcome of the prioritized NTFP enterprises and support activities that ANSAB developed and studied lately, which guided the discussion on prioritizing enterprise and support options that would make the greatest contribution to socio-economic impacts and integrated, intensified and climate smart land use.

Discussion on harmonizing Community Forestry and IEE/EIA practices and process was done for making the environmental assessment process in community forestry more efficient and less bureaucratic.

The participating institutions and individuals also shared their activities and programs in NTFP sectors.
