Conference on Sustainable Forest Management Certification for Resilient Ecosystems, Improved Governance and Local Livelihoods

ANSAB, Federation of Community Forestry Users Nepal (FECOFUN), National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) and Relief International (RI), with financial support from the ForCES project and the Swiss Embassy in Nepal, are going to organize an International Conference on “Sustainable Forest Management Certification for Resilient Ecosystem, Improved Governance and Local Livelihoods” in November 24-25, 2016 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Objectives

The major objective of this conference is to contribute to the sustainable management of forest, ecosystem services and biodiversity conservation through sharing and exchange of knowledge and practical experiences from Nepal and other countries. The specific objectives are to:

  • share successful national and international good practices on sustainable forest management, ecosystem services, biodiversity conservation, FSC forest certification, and policy;and
  • gather views, issues and options from multiple stakeholders for policy reforms relating to sustainable forest management, payment for ecosystem services and forest carbon emission reductions.
