ANSAB (Asia Network for Sustainable Agriculture and Bioresources) is an international non-governmental organization with its headquarters in Kathmandu. Established in 1992, ANSAB is committed to biodiversity conservation and economic development through community-based enterprise oriented solutions. ANSAB has been working in the field of natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, economic development and climate change.

In response to the devastating earthquake on April 25, 2015 and a series of aftershocks thereafter, ANSAB has been working on relief and recovery activities, mainly focusing on in its program areas.For this earthquake recovery program, ANSAB is currently seeking qualified, dynamic and result oriented persons for the following positions:

1. Position: Field Coordinator

Duty Station: Kathmandu with frequent field visit

Duration: 1 year with possibility of extension

Required Number: 1

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with 2 years of project implementation experience at community level,or
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering (Overseer) and Bachelor in any discipline with 5 years of project implementation experience at community level

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

General

  • Manage inputs and human resources to ensure effective implementation of the program
  • Coordinate with village level, district level and national level concerned government agencies and civil society organizations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual report and other necessary reports as and when required
  • Document the project information in an organized way
  • Take part in different relevant forums representing ANSAB

Specific

  • Develop plan of action in consultation with program team and private partners active in the program implementation sites
  • Design, estimate and supervise in development of infrastructures esp. shelter, drinking water and irrigation
  • Facilitate demonstration of promising, costefficientand effective infrastructures and technological options
  • Facilitate in procurement of relevant tools, equipment, and machineries
  • Provide training to local partners, community members and construction workers on technical aspects

2. Position: Field Facilitators

Duty Station: Dolakha, Sindhupalchok and Kavrepalanchok

Duration: Few months with the possibility of extension

Required Number: Few

Qualification and Experience:

  • Sub-overseer (TSLC) or Intermediate degree with experience in construction works
  • Experience/knowledge on general situation and context of the project districts

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

General

  • Manage inputs and human resources to ensure effective implementation of the program
  • Coordinate with village and district level concerned government agencies and civil society organizations
  • Prepare reports and other necessary reports as and when required
  • Document the project information in an organized way
  • Take part in different relevant forums representing ANSAB

Specific

  • Carry out survey and comprehensive assessment of community needs
  • Facilitate and build consensus among communities on earthquake recovery plan
  • Facilitate to distribute recovery materials such as shelter
  • Assist in training needs assessment and provide training to communities
