Vacancy Announcement: Field Coordinator

ANSAB has recently envisioned a new program named Ecosystem-based Commercial Agriculture (ECA), which aims to transform the traditional forestry and agriculture into climate smart, attractive and socially prestigious business, and has started some of the initial key components of ECA that are crucial to test its effectiveness, make a ground for efficiency testing and develop a program for scaling-up.

In this line, ANSAB in partnership with ICCO Cooperation, Mission East – Nepal and Innovative Agro Solution is jointly implementing a pilot project “Climate Smart Agriculture in the Himalaya – an Innovative Green Business Model for Food Security and Poverty Reduction of Mountainous Communities of Nepal” in Bajura district of Nepal. For this project ANSAB is seeking a well-qualified and experienced candidate for the following position:

Position: Field Coordinator

Duty Station: Bajura district

Duration: Initially 2 years and subject to extension

Qualification and Experience:

  • B. Sc. Agriculture with 2 years of experience or I.Sc. Agriculture (Plant Science) with bachelor degree in any discipline with 5 years of relevant experience
  • Practical and proven experience in working with private sector,experience in agribusiness development and community mobilization

Major roles and responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility of project management incl. human and financial resources and ensure effective implementation of the project
  • Coordinate with community, project partners and relevant government stakeholders including DADO, DDC, ASC and VDC
  • Support in preparing the project’s annual activity and monitoring plans, and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Facilitate formation of groups, preparation of business plan, registration of groups and registration of company based on requirement
  • Prepare LRP mobilization plan and mobilize LRP on demand basis
  • Provide training to LRP and community members on production, processing and marketing of food and cash crops
  • Facilitate demonstration of promising and innovative technologies
  • Support to prepare manuals, brochure, booklet and other relevant IEC materials
  • Represent ANSAB in relevant forums
