1. PROGRAM OFFICER – (Biodiversity, Ecosystem Services and Climate Change) – 1

Required Qualifications and Competences

  • Master’s degree in the forestry with at least 3 years of experience in participatory forestry and environmental research;
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the forestry, climate change and PES including REDD+ and adaptation issues;
  • A strong aptitude and ability to communicate both informally (interpersonal skills and networking) and formally (presentations);
  • Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours as required;
  • Project management experience (development and implementation of work plans, financial and technical management of contracts, supervision of consultants, liaison with relevant stakeholders, etc.);
  • Experience in project development and resource mobilization;
  • Skillful in facilitating stakeholders’ workshops, meetings and trainings;
  • Capable in stakeholders/ partners coordination, team management and prudent decision making;
  • Coordinate, support and monitor the overall project activities implemented in collaboration with the partners;
  • Experiences/strong interest in program designing and fundraising;
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Nepali.


Required Qualifications and Competences

  • Masters’ degree in agriculture preferably agriculture economics, organic agriculture, horticulture or related subjects from the reputed university;
  • Good understanding on the socio-economic and environmental issues of Nepalese agriculture;
  • Experiences/strong interest in program designing and fundraising;
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English and Nepali;
  • Sound skill on proposal and report writing;
  • Prior work experience will be an added value for this position;
